Darkroom's Second Anniversary Party
darkroom, located at 2210 W. Chicago Ave., along with New City and Goose Island, will be celebrating its second year anniversary party on Sunday January 16th, 2005. The event will feature local Chicago bands J. Davis Trio and Baldwin Brothers with DJ Form and DJ Michael Lacey spinning throughout the night. There will be a $10 cover charge for the event, which will also include drink specials, darkroom giveaways, and raffle prizes. The doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 10pm.
The Darkroom
2210 W. Chicago Ave.
Since 1995, The J. Davis Trio has maintained their position as one of the most clever and innovative all-live jazz/hip-hop bands on the Chicago music scene. They've successfully headlined their own shows from House of Blues, to the more intimate setting of the world renowned jazz club the Green Mill and opened for such national acts as The Roots, Michelle N'degelcello, De La Soul, Black-Eyed Peas, and Groove Collective.
Baldwin Brothers have been working out that elusive musical link between jam bands and laptop electronica; which has resulted in their most recent album, Cooking with Lasers; a blend of live funk and studio-created beats that owes as much to Herbie Hancock and the JBs, as it does to Kraftwerk. DJ Form, a member of Baldwin Brothers, will be spinning the early set, while darkroom resident Michael Lacey will keep the party going on all night until 1:30am.
